Christoph Röhl

Christoph Röhl has directed prime-time dramas for television and his short films (In Your Shoes, Fivefortyfive, Butterfly World and Fast Learners) have won numerous international awards, including the Max-Ophüls Short Film Prize, the Gold Plaque at the Chicago International Film Festival and a Federal German Film Prize in Silver (the German equivalent of a BAFTA).

His award winning first feature film A Piece of Me, co-written with Philippe Longchamp, was released in German cinemas in October 2009.

His latest film We're Not the Only Ones, which gave voice to the victims of a large child sex abuse case at one of Germany's most famous boarding schools, was nominated for a National German TV Award and released in cinemas in 2011. Since making the film, he continues be active in raising awareness of the widespread existence of child sex abuse. His projects have included developing a film concept for a government financed Online E-Learning Course for teachers, doctors and therapists, a seminar financed by the Robert-Bosch-Stiftung and producing a trailer for Kein Raum für Missbrauch/No Space for Sex Abuse, a government anti-child-sex abuse campaign.

He is a founding member of the Met Film School located at Ealing Studios and was its School Director for 4 years from 2003 to 2007, a position that involved designing all its advanced courses. He continues to teach acting at various European filmschools.

He is currently working on his next feature film and a major TV Film for the German broadcaster WDR.
